Chief Judge Laura Taylor Swain of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York issued a ruling rejecting Shawn Dolifka’s request to amend his class action lawsuit against Tether and Bitfinex. The court noted that Dolifka attempted to advance arguments that were “rejected” and that his amended complaint failed to correct fundamental flaws in his claims.
Tether stated in its announcement that the entire class action complaint was dismissed at this stage of the proceedings, highlighting the fact that the plaintiffs’ claims have no legal basis. The court will soon rule against Dolifka and in favor of Tether and Bitfinex.
