Changpeng Zhao (CZ), former CEO of Binance, has projected that only a small fraction of cryptocurrency investors will succeed in the long run.
Responding to a post by crypto influencer EmperorBTC on March 17, CZ weighed in on the challenges of thriving in the crypto market. EmperorBTC argued that the majority of investors are ill-prepared, stating that 80% are “tourists” swayed by market sentiment, over 10% follow misguided influencers, and only 5% genuinely understand the space.
CZ concurred, adding that even among the 5% who grasp the industry, most fail to outperform Bitcoin. He noted that just 4% actively trade or invest in blockchain projects, yet they still struggle to surpass Bitcoin’s performance.
“4% actively trade or work on projects but won’t outperform Bitcoin. Holding BTC surpasses 99% of crypto participants and other asset types, by doing practically nothing,” CZ remarked.
His comments come as Bitcoin trades at $82,930, facing resistance at $85,000, amid record outflows in the digital asset sector.
