Token 2049 Attendees Can Enhance Marine Conservation with DOTphin NFTs

At Token 2049 in Singapore, attendees have the opportunity to engage with an innovative Polkadot NFT initiative, DOTphin, launched by the Sovereign Nature Initiative (SNI) in collaboration with Unique Network and WalletConnect. The DOTphin project offers attendees a unique Proof of Presence (PoP) digital avatar, designed to evolve through user interactions and contribute to marine conservation efforts.

Attendees can visit the Polkadot booth (Booth #P34 and 42, located on level 5 of the Marina Bay Sands Convention Center) to collect their DOTphin avatars. Each PoP unlocks different stages of the avatar’s evolution, which is influenced by ecological data provided by SNI’s marine conservation partner, Aquasearch. This project represents a pioneering blend of blockchain technology and environmental impact, allowing users to support marine life preservation while interacting with advanced digital collectibles.

Catherine Bischoff, CEO of SNI, emphasized, “Our aim at Sovereign Nature Initiative is to innovate the economics of biodiversity conservation and restoration. DOTphin exemplifies our commitment to merging community engagement with environmental protection by connecting digital assets with real-world impact. We are redefining the role of virtual items in fostering tangible conservation efforts.”

To claim PoPs or other Proofs, attendees can visit the SNI website or scan QR codes at the event, leading them through a straightforward claim process. Users can easily create an account using an email address, social profiles, or digital wallets.

Once PoPs are collected, attendees can evolve their DOTphin avatars by visiting the REAL Evolution page on the REAL portal. The evolution process starts with acquiring a primordial “orbo” and progresses as additional PoPs and Proofs are applied. Each Proof affects the avatar’s characteristics, resulting in a unique representation of individual engagement.

The DOTphin avatars feature an artistic style inspired by Japanese anime, designed by acclaimed artist Daria Smakhtina from Ephemera One. This design choice fosters a relatable connection between users and their digital companions, enhancing the experience of nurturing and evolving their avatars over time.
