Southeast Asian ride-hailing platform TADA has launched a new mini-app on Telegram in collaboration with the TON Foundation. This innovation allows users to book rides directly through Telegram and make payments using Toncoin or USDT on the TON blockchain.
The TADA mini-app integrates seamlessly with Telegram, enabling web3 users to access ride-hailing services without needing to sign up for additional apps or complete extra downloads. This partnership is designed to drive the adoption of web3 technologies by merging them with widely used web2 platforms.
Harvey Kim, Head of Korea at the TON Foundation, emphasized the importance of integrating web3 solutions with popular web2 platforms to enhance user familiarity with the benefits of blockchain technology. He described the partnership as a crucial move for expanding the TON blockchain’s presence in Southeast Asia.
To promote the new service, TADA and the TON Foundation will offer 4,000 free rides during the TOKEN2049 crypto conference, which will take place in Singapore from September 14 to 18.
Founded in 2018, TADA operates in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia, with plans to expand to Hong Kong by the end of the year. The launch of this mini-app aligns with Telegram’s recent efforts to broaden its crypto capabilities, including the introduction of a mini-app store and in-app browser supporting web3 pages. Telegram has also seen significant engagement with its tap-to-earn games that utilize TON blockchain tokens.
