Ethereum experienced a significant price surge on Thursday, trading at $2,588.62 by 14:20 (18:20 GMT) on the Investing.com Index. The cryptocurrency’s value jumped 10.42% within the day, marking its largest single-day percentage increase since August 8.
This upward movement boosted Ethereum’s market capitalization to $311.51 billion, representing 14.91% of the entire cryptocurrency market. However, this is still far from its peak market cap of $569.58 billion.
In the last 24 hours, Ethereum fluctuated between $2,322.98 and $2,600.27. Despite today’s gains, the cryptocurrency has seen a decline of 16.89% over the past week, trading between $2,166.31 and $3,217.36 during this period. Currently, Ethereum remains 46.78% below its all-time high of $4,864.06, which was recorded on November 10, 2021.
Other Cryptocurrency Movements
Bitcoin also saw an uptick, trading at $59,493.30, up 8.56% for the day. Meanwhile, Tether USDt was relatively stable, trading at $1.0003, a slight increase of 0.02%.
Bitcoin’s market cap stood at $1.17 trillion, accounting for 56.18% of the total cryptocurrency market value, while Tether USDt’s market cap was $115.07 billion, or 5.51% of the overall market.
