Over 23,000 wallet addresses have received 28.88 million NEXT

Layer 2 interoperability protocol Connext released an after-the-fact analysis of the airdrop claim issue, claiming that the attacker intentionally carried out a denial-of-service (DoS) attack on Tokensoft’s API, which paralyzed Connext’s claim database and user interface. During this period, 274,956 NEXT from 253 previously leaked wallets (not related to Connext) were claimed and sold in exchange for approximately 40,000 USDT.

Notably, Connext itself was not leaked. Although there were initial concerns that this was an exploit of the airdrop contract, this possibility was quickly ruled out. After the DoS attack ended, the claiming activities returned to normal, and more than 23,000 wallet addresses have successfully claimed 28,884,594 NEXT.

Connext will release detailed statistics on the first cross-chain airdrop tomorrow.

According to data on the chain, the address starting with 0x44Af received a large number of Connext token NEXT airdrops through 230 accounts in the past hour, and sold them all into ETH, USDT and USDC, earning approximately US$39,000.
